Hello my friends and welcome to Monday! Well, my little blog has brought to light yet another nugget of information about myself. I have an amazing talent for procrastination. Despite the fact that I love almost every aspect of blogging, it has become apparent that I choose to dilly dally around producing little to no material until under the cloud of a publishing deadline. And let's be real here...any so called deadlines on this lttle blog are self-imposed. There are no bloggy police handing out penalties for not publishing a Monday morning post. It's funny; I love to write my little stories, share bits about myself, put together DIY's, and muck about with photographs. Oftentimes, I will be happily playing around with different fonts, colours, and design features for my blog. But so far as the actual composition of a publishable post? Um yeah, that seems to happen in a mad haze of activity at the ninth hour. In an attempt to give this blog some semblance of order, I have devised a somewhat loose plan on what to post, and when to post; and in doing so, I can now clearly see my natural tendency to be blissfully creative for hours on end, only to find myself in a mild panic to get something presentable together at the, yup, ninth hour. If I could get a bit ahead of the game, maybe have a post or two in the bag, or at least have my i's dotted and my t's crossed a few days before said self imposed deadline, that would be great, at least in theory. I mean, other bloggers do it. I have been reading how some bloggers schedule posts for up to a month in advance, everything mapped out neatly on charts, or in spreadsheets. My reality is that I just don't roll that way. When I write my little babble, I usually want to hit publish before the ink is dry. If it sits in abeyance, it loses it's appeal for me somehow. So for the time being, I will embrace my fate, and procrastinate. Or to put a positive spin on this whole little post, let's just say that being spontaneous actually does work for me. And that my friends, is a little bit of what writing this blog and The Dressing Your Truth program have taught me about myself.
Okay, a little about this outfit. I was on the receiving end of many smiles as the mister and I walked out to the end of the spit. I thought it was the tulips, but after seeing these photos, I think maybe my outfit was cheery enough to generate a little sunshine, and a lot of smiles from people, on what was a very gray day. A few of these items you've seen before...the jumper here, and the handbag here and here. This go round, I've worn my t-shirt on top of my jumper for a slightly different look. The handbag that's currently housing tulips was probably toting wine while in Penticton. {Smiles she.} Also, in the close-up photo of me; that is wind blowing my hair and not what appears to be a very impressive backcombing.

So cute! I love the first photo. Your rainboots are so fun :) And I am with you, I am excellent at procrastinating!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable are you?! Love the red wellies with yellow soles, and picture #3 definitely deserves a frame!
ReplyDeleteSome people plan out blog posts, you say? Huh - that never occurred to me.
I love a red/yellow combo. Awesomme post!!
ReplyDeleteOh sue, you are too adorable for words!
ReplyDeleteThe tulips, and you, are lovely and make me smile! I too like to publish my posts when they're "fresh" and there's nothing like the last minute! Thanks for sharing with Vis Monday.
ReplyDeleteHello Sue,
ReplyDeleteI would give you a big smile if you passed my way. So I send it to you this way :D
Have you choosen your outfit according to the colors of the tulips or have you bought the tulips wearing this dress? Anyway you look so wonderful and happy that you brighten my day here in Germany.
I also don't have a time schedule for blogging. Only Monday (means Sunday evening) is a fixed date due to Visible Monday and Mixit. I would not miss it.
Have a great week my dear fill of joy!
This time I bought the tulips to go with my outfit! I do find inspiration for my outfits in the most unconventional places though.
Deletelove those primary colours and those red and yellow soled boots. The tulips are just the touch for your picture taking adventure......
ReplyDeleteShirl
O' the wonders of the primary colors. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this post. It is beyond happy and radiates sunshine right to my soul. You may procrastinate but it obviously works wonders for you because your stories, outfits, background choice, flowers and all come together like a picture book.
ReplyDeleteI just love the bracelets, the tulips, the color scheme, and those red wellies!!! What fun - that's a great way to walk on the beach. And I'm not surprised you got a lot of smiles. You look like spring on foot!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about doing posts ahead. Who knows what might change before you actually post it? The ones I've done ahead are ones that aren't outfit posts, because if I shop and find something new, I want to wear it and post it SOON.
You make me smile. If I saw you, I'd say hello!
ReplyDeleteOh, there you are! So great to see you, looking so bright. You just look wonderful. I've been so serious today (see very annoyed rant by me when time permtis) that it's a joy to see your face.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it strange...I so often procrastinate worst when it comes to something I really love doing. That's what I think is strange.
i laughed to myself when i read maps and charts. i am not nearly that organized!!! i am also a procrastinator...it makes me work harder when i really need to. i see that as a plus! i love your outfit here. those boots are fabulous and tulips are my favorite flowers!!
ReplyDeleteIt was your cheery outfit and infectious smile that made the mister smile, Sue! I love the colour combo - so joyous! You look great, and so happy! xo
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is definitely cheery and I love it! So perfect for the Spring, and what gorgeous tulips :)

It's such a spring like, happy image, you in those wonderful bright colours with the bag full of tulips, it really made my day! You look great in yellow Sue, with that beautiful smile. Always love seeing your sea :)
ReplyDeleteSue, such beautiful photos! I love how you are holding the bright flowers. Red is lovely on you..loving those rain boots! xo
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...I could have written this post. I, too, love all the individual aspects of blogging but can't seem to get them all together to create a post. It's so nice to know that I'm not the only one.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, you look so adorable in this sunny outfit. Not to mention that you are carrying my absolute favorite flowers!
Happy to see that I am not alone in my procrastination...I mean spontaneity!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I appreciate all of your thoughtful comments!
Sue xo
Oh wow, this post just made me SMILE! How perfect is this? Beautiful setting, gorgeous flowers, bright stripes and those boots. It looks like it should be a magazine spread. Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is amazing!!! As for blogs deadlines, schedules, etc... I think it takes the fun out of it. Blogs are a creative outlet and creativity is hard to schedule. Trust me, I know, I tried and it's not how I roll, either. :)
ReplyDeleteWell said Wendy. Thanks!
DeleteI just LOVE this whole outfit, I want that bag!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove tulips! Loving these colors!! no deadlines or shcedules in blog world...Maybe one or even two but otherwise go with what feels right and what inspires you...sometimes I am not inspired and I don't post anything for a week! Except for thrifters anonymous! haha always inspiring! Thanks for linking up! Love your finds!
